MATRIX DVD UNLOADED
By Bill Higgins

HOLLYWOOD -- Beware of the new Neo whose incorruptible power dwarfs Keanu's in his ability to cripple the Matrix: the West Hollywood fire marshal.

This latest twist in the Matrix saga was revealed at last week's lavish launch for the DVD release of The Matrix Reloaded. The fire marshal, acting as "The One," said "too many," and shut went the doors at Morton's.
As with much of the Matrix saga, the true reason for the shutdown is obscured in illusion. Warner Home Video either bused in too many sell-through retailers, or those clever Wal-Mart merchants replicated Agent Smith-style. Perhaps the real cause will be revealed at the launch of the The Matrix Revolutions DVD.

For those inside the Morton's-adjacent high-tech white tent -- it could double as the Zion VIP employee rest area -- the evening's high point was an all-too-brief showing of stunning clips from the final part of the trilogy.

Among those enjoying the white-on-white, human-built party infrastructure were producer Joel Silver and wife Karyn; and stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith and Nona Gaye.
